The Final Push

It is a busy and exciting time at Cozmic Studios, the purpose-built digital recording facility of Dayglo Fishermen. The band's new album is due for release in only a couple of months, yet there is still an awful lot of work to be done. And most of that work is due to the exacting nature of the band's members.

They are all perfectionists - every note, every nuance, every tone, every twang and every word must be placed, tuned and equalised to a precise and high standard. It is a time consuming task requiring dedication and talent above and beyond what most people would consider normal, or even possible.

The stunning quality of Dayglo Fishermen's previous albums demonstrates what can be expected when the new album is finally released, especially as the same care and attention that had been lavished on those previous albums has been showered on this one.

But there is one major difference: whereas the previous albums were all recorded using analogue equipment, the new album is recorded using 24-bit state-of-the-art digital technology. An out-of-this-world leap in sound quality is expected. That is a mouth-watering prospect, and one that has fans around the world aching in anticipation.

These photographs are a rare insight into the production of the latest album. They were taken in January 2006, when Peter and Richard were putting the finishing touches to the new album's longest and largely instrumental track - an impressive 14-minute long epic. As mentioned earlier, the band are notorious perfectionists, so even the finishing touches to a track take a huge amount of time and dedication.

Dayglo Fishermen are indeed an inspiration to all!
